Wonders of the Jagannath Temple in Puri are as follows–

1.Flag always flaps in opposite direction of air.
2.From any place in Puri you, will always find the Sudarshan Charka (Charka at top of Temple) facing you.
3.Normally during day-time, air comes from sea to land and during evening, the vice-versa occurs. But in Puri it’s totally opposite.
4.No bird or planes fly above the Temple.
5.The shadow of the main dome is invisible at any time of the day.
6.The quantity of cooked food insidethe Temple remains same for the entire year. But that same quantity of prasadam can feed few thousand people and 20 lac people, Still it won’t get wasted.
7.In the Temple kitchen, 7 pots are kept on each other and cooked on firewood. In this process the contents in the top pot get cooked first and then the bottom one.
8.After entering from Singhadwara’s first step (from inside of the Temple), you can’t hear any sound produced by the ocean. But, when you cross the same step (from outside of the Temple) you can hear it. This can be noticed clearly during evening.

According to the Purāņas, Brahmā is self-born in the lotus flower. Another legend says that Brahmā was born in water, or from a seed that later became the golden egg. From this golden egg, Brahmā, the creator was born, as Hiranyagarbha. The remaining materials of this golden egg expanded into the Brahmāna or Universe. Being born in water, Brahmā is also called as Kanja (born in water).
At the beginning of the process of creation, Brahmā creates the four Kumāras or the Caturaņa. However, they refuse his order to procreate and instead devote themselves to God and celibacy.
The Kumaras are four sages (rishis) who roam the universe as children from the Puranic texts of Hinduism. Sanaka, Sanatana, Sanandana and Sanatkumara. They are described as the first mind-born creations and sons of the creator-god Brahma. Brahma, who had received the knowledge of the Puranas from the Universal Being (god Himself) Narayana, imbibed this to his Four Kumaras (Sanat Kumaras). Sanat Kumaras then taught the Puranas to Narada. Narada transmitted it to Krishna Dwaipayana who in turn scripted them in monumental epic documents of 18 Puranas. The Vishnu Purana is recorded in two parts, the Vishnu Purana and Naradiya Purana.
Born from Brahma's mind, the four Kumaras undertook lifelong vows of celibacy (brahmacharya) against the wishes of their father. They are said to wander throughout the materialistic and spiritualistic universe without any desire but with purpose to teach. All four brothers are studied Vedas from their childhood, and always travelled together.
The Bhagavata Purana lists the Kumaras among the twelve Mahajanas (great devotees or bhaktas)[5] who although being eternally liberated souls from birth, still became attracted to the devotional service of Vishnu from their already enlightened state. It also mentions them as being an avatar of Vishnu.[6] They play a significant role in a number of Hindu spiritual traditions, especially those associated with the worship of Vishnu and his avatar Krishna.
In Shiva Tradition, The Linga Purana describes that Shiva or his aspect Vamadeva will be born as a Kumara and then multiple into the four Kumaras in each kalpa (aeon) as sons of Brahma of that kalpa. The four sages Sanak,Sanandan,Sanatan,Sanat were learned brahmins. They were the sons of Lord Brahma.
Each time after the pralaya Brahma will be samadhi state and during that time all the vedas will reside in him. During this Yuga when Brahma was revealing the vedas, Hagreeva, a demon took the possession of all the Vedas. So Devas fought with Hagreevan and took back Sama Vade, Yajur Veda and Sama Veda. But Hagreevam lost the war and went to Lord Shiva. As he owned all the vedas during this birth he was given a boon by Lord Shiva that he will be born as Risha, Atharva and would reveal the Atharva Veda the fourth one.

Veda is the source of all knowledge. Any one who has learnt Veda from any loka can reach Brahma. What comes from Brahma's mouth is Veda. since he has 4 faces there are four Vedas

There are four Vedas
Rig Veda        - from the east facing mouth of Lord Brahma
Yajur Veda     - from the south facing mouth of Lord Brahma
Sama Veda     - from the west facing mouth of Lord Brahma
Atharvan Veda – from the north facing mouth of Lord Brahma

Science
Ayurveda(science of medicine)         - from the east facing mouth of Lord Brahma
Dhanurveda(Science of Archery)      - from the south facing mouth of Lord Brahma
Gandharvaveda(Science of Music)  - from the west facing mouth of Lord Brahma
sthapatyaveda (Science of Architecture)– from the north facing mouth of Lord Brahma

They were very proud of their father, Brahma because he was the creator of the holy books , Vedas. They were aware of three Vedas,- Rigved,Yajurved, and Samveda and considered that the whole knowledge is complete in these three books. On the other hand Sage Atharva approached Lord Shiva to get approval of his knowledge which he gathered from the universe using his divine powers. Lord Shiva, impressed by his creation and blessed Sage Atharva that his book of knowledge would constitute the list of Vedas and will be called as ‘Atharvaveda’. When this news reached the sons of Lord Brahma, they protested as according to them the other three Vedas was a complete set of knowledge and there was no need of fourth Veda. They argued Lord Shiva and challenged his authority to certify fourth veda. . Finally it was decided that whether to certify fourth Veda or not depends upon the result of debate. Goddess Saraswati was appointed as judge. The four Sages fired too much and too complicated questions to Lord Shiva and there were very confident of their victory as they underestimated Lord Shiva. But Shiva, who is the Lord of all the supreme knowledge, answered each and every question . The Sages accept their defeat gracefully and asked for forgiveness. Since then Artharva Ved was added to the list of Vedas , making the total four. The Sages went to their brother Prajapati Daksha who was bitter rival of Lord Shiva. On listening about the defeat of his four brothers, he cursed them to be small child. After that the four sages turned into small children. Since the sages were very learned , so they thanked their brother for the curse because after becoming kids their urge for learning more would be greater.

Sages born to Brahma in the beginning who refrained from ongoing process of creation.  Sanaka, Sanatana, Sanandana and Sanatkumara

He then proceeds to create from his mind ten sons, who are believed to be the fathers of the human race. But since all these sons were born out of his mind rather than body, they are called Mānas Putras or mind-sons or spirits. The Manusmŗti and Bhāgavat Purāņa enumerate them as

Science and God

The Beginning of Beginning
Each and every ancient Indian scripture is dedicated to the supremacy of one God. The process of creation in all these scriptures is more or less similar with very few deviations.
As per Brahmnada, Matsya, Vayu, Agni, Kurma, Padma, Garuda, Narada, Srimad Bhagwat puranas there was nothing in the beginning. The universe was in total darkness with only the divine energy flowing everywhere. This divine energy was called the Sada Shiva(Lord of ever existence) This divine energy had its powers in dormant nature but the consciousness was wide awake. This energy of all perceiving Lord is call maya and with the help of maya the mighty Lord created this universe. Due to the cosmic disturbance the concept of Maya Tatva(cosmic Intelligence) was evolved from the emergence of these two cosmic energies. Maha tatva evolved and transformed till the concept of creation began. From this development the concept of Ego, adhibhuta, adhyatma, adhidaiva emerged. Ego which in turn could be subdivided into the form three categories Satvic, Rajasic and Tamasic. Similarly Adhibhuta, adhyatma and adhidaiva form the basis for the five senses of perception, five organs of action and the concept of mind. This divine energy split in three parts with the divine nada(sound) when the time of creation came. The First part became Lord Brahma the creator, second became Lord Vishnu the preservator and the third part became Lord Shiva the destroyer. From the lotus feet of Lord Vishnu flowed the nectar and water appeared all around. Since water appeared from the Lotus feet of Lord Vishnu it is called ‘Nar’ that which appeared from the lotus feet of Narayana.
Lord Brahma created a divine golden cocoon(divine cosmic egg) around him and started the creation of universe in the water itself. This spiritual  egg had the following things
Three Gunas
Sattvic Guna, Rajastic Guna, Tamasic Guna
Mahat
Cosmic inbuilt intelligence
Ego
Cosmic endurance
Five elements(in subtle forms)
Earth(Prithvi), Waer(Apa) Fire(Agni), Ether (Akasha), Air (Vayu)
Five Elements Guna
Sound(sabda), Touch(Sparsha), Speed and Light(Tejas), Taste
Sixteen Evolutionary Ingredients
Mind, five senses of perceptions, five organs of actions and five gross elements

It is believed that Lord Brahma first created the ignorance, delusion, diversity, fear, anger and the concept of death – an end in itself. These creations made a sort of disillusionment to his mid. His eyebrow narrowed and within a second a dark and angry God made his presence felt, this dark and angry God was Rudra. Lord Rudra gave Lord Brahma the knowledge of creation as done in the last kalpa. Understanding the mistake and fault of creation, Lord Brahma restarted the process of creation. For one whole year Lord Brahma stayed inside the egg and then he split open the egg and came out. The splitting of the egg, caused the first sound of creation or pranava sabda. This pranava sabda was Om. Since he had been in the egg, he is also known as Hiranyagarbha. The  upper half of the egg became the sky and lower part of the egg became the earth. One by one all energies blossomed from the their embryonic state.
In the egg itself Lord Brahma created the earth(with mountains, lakes, oceans forests etc,) Sun, Moon, Stars and Planets. The first one to come out was sun that is the reason why he is known as Aditya. Then Agni appeared from the energy of Lord Brahma and was termed as the son of Brahma. Moon appeared soon after Lord Brahma created the cosmos with a span of seven Brahma days.
In the beginning, the creation was hot in nature. Due to impact of Agni, Water and Ether the emergence of air happened and due to the combined strength of these four elements, the earth appeared.
During this period the land was not divided into continents as we see them now. It was only a huge mass of land covering nearly 25-30% of the total surface and rest of it was covered with water. In this period, the size of moon was also larger than as seen today. The climate of the earth was very hot (lavas, sulphur  rains, hot geysers etc) and it took billions of human years for the nature to cool down for any life form to appear.
Lord Brahma got very tense to find a method for creation of living beings and their development and growth. Lord Brahma then created another Brahma in his form and split him into two parts the right part being a male and the left part being a female. Plants, trees and shrubs were created n beginning and it was only after splitting of the Brahmaswaroopa into male and female that the single celled microorganism started creating its own slit form
Plants and trees were created in the following order
a.       Trees which bear fruit without flowering. In this category, Banyan tree is one of the first creation of Lord Brahma.
b.      Trees which bear fruits after flowering
c.       Plants which die when the fruit ripens
d.      Creepers and other related plants which were dependent on other trees for their survival
e.      Creepers that provide big fruits on the ground such as watermelon
These plants and trees were capable of reproducing their own kind without the process of copulation. The energy fo9r producing their own kind came from their touch to the Mother Earth
After creation of trees and plants, Lord Brahma created animals from the animals, birds evolved. This happened over a long period of time, when the limbs of the animals were transformed into wings. Animals also started creating their own breed through the process of copulation.
The split form of male and female of Brahmaswaroopa became the first male and female on the face of the Mother Earth known as Swayambhuv Manu and his consort satarupa. And through them the creation of humans started. This period Satya Yuga saw the growth in population and happiness. In this Yuga gods used to live with humans.
The creation must have taken millions of human years and during that period many of the species from the surface. Science also agrees to many of the concepts as provided n the scriptures also agrees to many of these concepts as provided in the scriptures such as there was nothing in the beginning but a huge void and this huge void got disturbed due to unknown reasons and there was an explosion as never seen before and never to be seen after. This explosion caused the release of unbearable heat and subsidization many stars formed and one of them was our sun. The smaller pieces broken from the sun formed planets, satellites and other celestial objects. Due to immense heat and water vapours in one of the planets(earth) created an incredible greenhouse effect making the climate very similar to tropical all over the globe. When Lord Brahma got distracted by Devi Vageeshwari and went into trance, the creation process stopped on earth. This might be the period in which a meteor hit earth and a large part of the world as hid under the dust and vapour for millions of years and levels of water rose to such a height that a covered major parts of the earth. The height to which water rose could be judged by the fact that Himalayas once were under the sea. This large scale destruction wiped away many species and when the water receded, the land started cracking up. There was huge water vapour and this clouded the total atmosphere thereby dis-balancing the temperature of the earth into a great ball of ice. Where ice age crept most of the animals and species which were destroyed by the flood were either crushed under the earth at high pressure to turn into fossils or were preserved by the ice for ages together.
According to Indian scriptures, Hiranyaksha the demon kind stole Mother Earth and hid it under the ocean floor and in order to save the Mother earth, Lord Vishnu had taken incarnation in the form of Varaha and brought back Mother Earth to a stable position so that Lord Brahma could continue with process of creation. Science also describes that when the ice age had elapsed, earth was covered with mug, algae and other water borne animals. From these water borne animals many new forms of life developed and many new forms of live developed on the ocean floor.
After the creation of human beings, Lord Brahma took rest for a period of yuga. When awakened, he found that energy beings created y him had transformed into intelligent beings capable enough of survive the onslaught of nature. But by this time he found that human beings wanted to know more about their origin and wanted to get linked with the supreme energy that had created them. There were rituals and other spiritual process in the name of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.
Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu went to Sada Shiva, the eternal and primordial energy to seek his guidance for providing knowledge to humanity for knowing about their origin. Lord Sadashiva gave Lord Brahma the Brahmagyana – the ultimate knowledge and told him about the source that flowed through him which supported the process of creation. Lord Brahma was perplexed on hearing this and said in haughty tone that there was none superior to him as he alone created the universe and no other energy had supported him for this. On hearing this Lord Sadashiva reminded Lord Brahma that when he was tense and worried about the process of procreation, he split open in two parts – one in the form of male and the other in the form of female and this was possible only because of the blessing of Lord Sadashiva. Lord Brahma and Vishnu requested Lord Sadashiva to show them the divine spectacular form of half male and half female. Lord Sadashiva then assumed the form of Shiva-Sakti or Ardhanareeswara. The left side was Devi Tripurasundari and on the right side was Lord Sadashiva. This divine vision had never been seen by anyone in the whole cosmos. Lord Sadashiva then told that every male being was part female and part male and vice versa. No single male can create and no single female can create. For the creation process, both the species are required. This concept has been accepted by science now that every human male is part male and part female and every female is part female and part male.
The Shakti of Ardhaneeswara separated from the combined form and from her appeared three shaktis in the form of Devi Brahmani, Devi Lakshmi and Devi Parvati. Devi Brahmani became the consort of Lord Brahma, Devi Lakshmi  the consort of Lord Vishnu and Devi Parvati he consort of Lord Shiva.
Lord Sadashiva then told Lord Brahma, a father can be a part of creation but the needs, necessities, desires etc, can be looked after only by the mother. Similarly though Lord Brahma created the universe, Ma shakti would do the fulfillment of needs and desires while Lord Shiva or Lord Vishnu would give Mukti or Nirvana.
The quest for knowledge by humans was so great that Ma Shakti asked Lord Maheswara to explain the method of imparting the knowledge of Brahmagyana to the human beings. For the benefits of the humans, Lord Shiva explained the complex process of true knowledge in a very simple and lucid form. This is how the process of tantra came into being. Tantra is actually two words Tan + Antra both derived from Sanskrit. Tan means to grow limitlessly(another meaning is related to the physical body) and Antra meaning inwards. The more a person grows inwards the closer he is to the soul. Lord Shiva provided knowledge of Tantra during discussions with Devi Parvati. This was documented later by many sages and
Rishis. These were the science on Kundalini.
The science of Kundalini is termed to be nearly as old as the human evolution. Kundalini evolved from the Tantra when humans were transforming from the pure sattvic deeds to material needs.
Kundalini tantra is one of the six powerful energies, which are in existence in this universe. Shansahakti contain in itself the energy of the whole universe.

·         Parashakti/Paramashakti – means the base of all energies with no division in the energy. It is the purest form of energy for which everyone strives
·         Gyanashakti – means, the power of knowledge. Gyanashakti is of two types. One which is shanic(momentary) and the other dhirghakalic(endless). Shanic knowledge provides pleasure to the mind, body and also creates the concept of ahamkara(proud and haughtiness). This knowledge is easily available to humankind. Dhirgakhala knowledge will be eternal and will provide a sadhaka who is seeking this eternal truth with the riddhis and siddhies
·         Ichasahakti – means the fulfillment of desire. A sadhaka who has control over his desires, can achieve everything possible in the world. A Sadhaka who follows sattvik path will definitely find the true essence of life. This is an internal energy
·         Kriyashakti – means power of doing things. A sadhaka who practices yoga to gain control over body and develops it to overcome tragedies of life, gets both the benefits of physical as well as spiritual energies.

Kundalini
The word Kundalini was derived from the sanskrit word Kund as well as Kundal
Kund - Means a pit
Kundal - Means coiled up
Both the meanings put together provide a better meaning to the word Kundalini. It is the purest form of dormant energy, which is present in the small triangular bone cavity of sacrum in a three and half coiled up form. This triangular bone structure sacrum is said to have supernatural powers.
Kundalini has also been called kundli, kula kumdalini, Nagini, Tapasvini and Bhujagan
In India like other ancient civilisations, this energy was meditated upon and the knowledge was passed on to the selected ones. Historically also from the days of Harappa and Mohenjodara, Shiva and Shakti were worshipped. Shiva was worshipped in the form of Lingam and Shakti in the form of yoni. In one of the seals discovered from Harappa, Lord Shiva is depicted as Pashupati the lord of animals seated in a yogic posture with head gear having two horns on each side,, with an erect penis surouded by hordes of animals like tiger, snakes, etc. One small idol discovered showed upturned women with tree growing one of her vagina. All these symbols pointed to the combined energy of Shiva and shakti in the formation and creation of the universe. These also symbolised the generative power of the nature. Many western thinkers believe that the Lingam is actually the phallus of Lord Shiva and Yoni is the Clitoris of Shakti, this is the gross meaning and does not provide the actual meaning behind the symbols.
In the ancient time symbols were used for various purposes and these could be interpreted in a lot of ways. In the ancient time people worshipped Lord Brahma with Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. As per Shiva Mahapuran, once Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu had a discussion about supremacy in terms of creation to find out the truth they decided to go to Sadashiva. On their way, a sudden light blinded them and an endless huge pillar of light appeared in front of them. This perplexed them and Lord Vishnu told Lord Brahma to find the end of pillar of light. Both of them split their ways. Lord Vishnu went down to find the base of the pillar of light while Lord Brahma went up to find the other end of the pillar of light. Time passed and thought appeared in the mind of Lord Brahma that Lord Vishnu might have already found the other end of the pillar. As soon as this thought occurred, Lord Brahma came back to the same place where they saw the pillar of light. After time Lord Vishu also returned. Lord Vishnu told that he travelled and travelled but could not find the base of the pillar of light, Lord Brahma who felt elevated told a lie that he had found the end of the pillar of light. within a second the pillar of light disappeared and Lord shiva appeared and in anger cursed Lord Brahma that he will have no place in the ceremonies as he had lied for a small thing and blessed Lord Vishnu to be worshipped till the end of eternity. Lord Vishnu then requested Lord Shiva to appear in the same form of light, so that people could understand that ego never pays. Lord Shiva instantly produced Lingam which was coiled up by a snake three and a half time, and after giving it to Lord Vishnu returned to his abode. This is the reason why Lord Brahma has not been included in the ceremonies.

Human BodyThe universe as discussed earlier consists of two essential entities - matter and energ. The energy is Lord Shiva the malevolent force and the creative aspect is Shakti. Both cannot exist without each other. It is only through them we have five basic elements - solid, fluid, radiance gas and ether
These five elements are present in every substance in different proportions and in gross terms Prithvi (Earth), Apa (water), Agni (fire), Vayu (air), and Akasha (ether) are the true representation of the baisc elements. All the factors of diseases, the method of treatment of the diseases, types of food suitable, anatomical structure and the physiology can be found from the understanding of the essential five elements.

Tridosha theory - Tridosha works on the cocept of three major substances, which in turn represent the five elements in various combinations in the human body. whenever the combinations of the three gets disturbed, the diseases start showing on the gross body.
Dhatus -  The concept of Tridosha without the mention of seven dhatus(tissues) would be like telling about the Gross body without the soul
The seven dhatus are:

DhatutissuesFunction
Rasa dhatuPlasmaQuality of the ski. The more a skin is smooth soft, glossy, attractive and thin the better will be its functioning
Rakta DhatuBloodThe body greatly depends on the blood. When the body parts are pinkish / red with shine, the  body has sufficient blood to support the functioning the body
Mamsa DhatuMuscleBack of the nect, chest, fascial muscles, joints of hands, stomach, becomes solid and attractive when they are full of flesh

Pancha Vayu (Main Vayu)
Prana: is responsible for energy received through the five senses. This energy is received through the process of breathing.
Udana: is responsible for all the energies, which are sent out of the body like exhalation, speech and expiration. The stoppage or this air causes suffocation
Vyana : is responsible for sending out energy from the centre of the body to periphery. It is because of this energy we are able to make movements with limb, flow of blood, sweat etc. It is also responsible for sending information from nervous system to the brain. This energy flows throughout the body and all pervasive
Samana : is responsible for sending the energy from the periphery to the centre of the body. It helps in the process of digestion and can be heard as bleaching or burp sound.
Apana : is responsible for controlling movements of the urine, menstural discharge, seminal fluids and foetus. In addition this air is discharged from rectum

Subtle Vayu
Anga helps the movements of eye and mouth
Krkara helps in increasisng the appetite
Kurma helps in the contraction of the limbs, cheeks, stomach and maintaining the follicles of hair
Devadutta helps in relaxing the body by discharging tensions through the mouth by yawning
Dhananjaya helps the major air by working as carrier of the nourishment into the body
All these airs work in conjunction with the heart and under the guidance of the soul, to provide the best possible life that can be lived.

So any living being should have the two entities- Matter and energy.
Matter - Combination of five elements in the matter is subdivided as Tridosha and further created as saptha dhatus.
Energy - Combination of 3 mystical nadis, seven major chakras and Atma

Human Brain
The human brain is a 3-pound (1.4-kilogram) mass (for male and round 1.2 kilgram for female )of jelly-like fats and tissues—yet it's the most complex of all known living structures. Up to one trillion nerve cells work together and coordinate the physical actions and mental processes that set humans apart from other species.

You carry around a three-pound mass of wrinkly material in your head that controls every single thing you will ever do. From enabling you to think, learn, create, and feel emotions to controlling every blink, breath, and heartbeat—this fantastic control center is your brain. It is a structure so amazing that a famous scientist once called it "the most complex thing we have yet discovered in our universe."

Brain is he most important component of our body. In the study of modern science, this major area is dealt with central nervous system. The brain is one of the largest organs in the body. It is the hot seat that is vital source for all the information and knowledge a person would require

The brain is made of three main parts: the forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain. The forebrain consists of the cerebrum, thalamus, and hypothalamus (part of the limbic system). The midbrain consists of the tectum and tegmentum. The hindbrain is made of the cerebellum, pons and medulla. Often the midbrain, pons, and medulla are referred to together as the brainstem.

The cerebrum or cortex is the largest part of the human brain, associated with higher brain function such as thought and action. The cerebral cortex is divided into four sections, called "lobes": the frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, and temporal lobe. Here is a visual representation of the cortex:

  • Frontal Lobe- associated with reasoning, planning, parts of speech, movement, emotions, and problem solving
  • Parietal Lobe- associated with movement, orientation, recognition, perception of stimuli
  • Occipital Lobe- associated with visual processing
  • Temporal Lobe- associated with perception and recognition of auditory stimuli, memory, and speech

  • The Cerebellum: The cerebellum, or "little brain", is similar to the cerebrum in that it has two hemispheres and has a highly folded surface or cortex. This structure is associated with regulation and coordination of movement, posture, and balance. The cerebellum is assumed to be much older than the cerebrum, evolutionarily. What do I mean by this? In other words, animals which scientists assume to have evolved prior to humans, for example reptiles, do have developed cerebellums. However, reptiles do not have neocortex.

    Limbic System:
The limbic system, often referred to as the "emotional brain", is found buried within the cerebrum. Like the cerebellum, evolutionarily the structure is rather old. This system contains the thalamus, hypothalamus, amygdala, and hippocampus

    Brain Stem:
Underneath the limbic system is the brain stem. This structure is responsible for basic vital life functions such as breathing, heartbeat, and blood pressure. Scientists say that this is the "simplest" part of human brains because animals' entire brains, such as reptiles (who appear early on the evolutionary scale) resemble our brain stem

Have you ever heard people say that they tend to be more of a right-brain or left-brain thinker? From books to television programs, you've probably heard the phrase mentioned numerous times or perhaps you've even taken an online test to determine which type best describes you.

What Is Left Brain - Right Brain Theory?

According to the theory of left-brain or right-brain dominance, each side of the brain controls different types of thinking. Additionally, people are said to prefer one type of thinking over the other. For example, a person who is "left-brained" is often said to be more logical, analytical and objective, while a person who is "right-brained" is said to be more intuitive, thoughtful and subjective.
In psychology, the theory is based on what is known as the lateralization of brain function. So does one side of the brain really control specific functions? Are people either left-brained or right-brained? Like many popular psychology myths, this one has a basis in fact that has been dramatically distorted and exaggerated.

The Right Brain (Shakti) - controls left side of human body

According to the left-brain, right-brain dominance theory, the right side of the brain is best at expressive and creative tasks. Some of the abilities that are popularly associated with the right side of the brain include:
    • Recognizing faces
    • Expressing emotions
    • Music
    • Reading emotions
    • Color
    • Images
    • Intuition
    • Creativity

The Left Brain (Shiva) - controls left side of human body

The left-side of the brain is considered to be adept at tasks that involve logic, language and analytical thinking. The left-brain is often described as being better at:
    • Language
    • Logic
    • Critical thinking
    • Numbers
    • Reasoning

    Shiva
Shiva (Sanskrit: Auspicious One) is one of the main deities of Hinduism that is worshipped as the paramount lord by the Shaivaite sects of India.
In Hinduism, Lord Shiva is regarded as the representation of the Supreme Being. He is known as the third element in the Hindu Trinity (Trimurti), the other two members being Lord Brahma - the creator and Lord Vishnu - the protector. Shiva is the destructive form of the Almighty. As the cycle of destruction and recreation is always in a circle, Shiva’s primary responsibility is maintaining the life cycle. Scholars say, as the Mahakaal, Shiva destroys and dissolves everything into nothingness but as Shankara, he also reproduces that which has been destroyed and dissolved. His symbol of Lingam or the phallus represents this reproductive power.
Lord Shiva is also considered to be the most unique of all Hindu gods and also the God of all. A great ascetic, Shiva is the only godhead who is forever in deep meditation, totally absorbed in contemplation in His abode, Kailaasa Mountain in the great Himalaya. Lord Shiva is also said to be inseparable from Shakti - Parvati the daughter of Himavaan - Haimavati. There is no Shiva without Shakti and no Shakti without Shiva, the two are one - or the absolute state of being.
Shiva is often shown with many faces, as creator, destroyer and preserver in total command of the cosmos. He contains both good and evil. He is moody, free of inhibitions, easy to please, protector of the down trodden, and has the power to alter the laws of destiny. Thus, it is Lord Shiva is known as the God of mercy and kindness. He protects his devotees from all evil that are always around us. He blesses his followers with grace, knowledge and peace.
    Shiva as Ardhanareeswara
Lord Shiva is said to be half man and half woman. In the full figure of Siva the male and female principles are united. Shiva Linga - the symbol of Lord Shiva which consists of both Lingam (phallus) and yoni (the female organ) represent the totality of his nature and the totality of all created existence.
Appearance and Attributes of Lord Shiva
Lord Shiva is shown either in meditating or in the form of a Dancing God Nataraj where his dance is to the beat and rhythm of creation. He is also shown in sculptures with many hands. One pair of hands, for example, represents the balance between life and death. Shiva is 'tri netra' or three eyed, and is 'neela kantha' - blue-necked (having consumed poison to save the world from destruction). Besides, there are a lot many attributes associated with Lord Shiva. Here is a brief description of some of the important symbols that depict Lord Shiva. Each of his depiction signifies a different aspect of his Supreme Being.
Unclad body covered with ashes: This form of Lord Shiva depicts that Lord Shiva’s presence is much higher than this physical phenomenon. According to some scholars, Shiva’s body smeared with cemetery ash points to the philosophy of the life and death and the fact that death is the ultimate reality of the life.
Jata (Matted Hair): The flow of his matted hair represents Shiva as the Lord of Wind or Vayu, who is the subtle form of breath present in all living beings. Thus it is Shiva which is the lifeline for all living being. He is Pashupatinath.
Sacred Ganga: The holiest of the holy rivers, Ganga flows from the matted hair of Shiva. According to a legend, Shiva allowed an outlet to the great river to traverse the earth and bring purifying water to human being. Ganga also denotes fertility - one of the creative aspects of the Rudra.
The Third Eye: Lord Shiva is known as the three eyed Lord or Tryambaka Deva. The sun is his right eye, the moon left while the third eye of Shiva on his forehead is the eye of wisdom. It is the eye that looks beyond the obvious. The third eye can search evil from anywhere and destroys it completely.
Half-Open Eyes: The half-open eyes show that the universes cycle in process. When the eyes are completely closed it signifies the dissolvent of the universe and when it is completely open a new cycle of creation begins.

Crescent: Shiva bears on his head the crescent of the panchami (fifth day) moon. This is placed near the fiery third eye and this shows the power of Soma, the sacrificial offering, which is the representative of moon. It means that Shiva possesses the power of procreation along with the power of destruction. The moon is also a measure of time, thus Crescent also represent his control over time.
The Cobra Necklace: This suggests that Shiva is beyond the powers of death and is often the sole support in case of distress. He swallowed the poison kalketu for the wellbeing of the Universe. The deadly cobra represents that “death” aspect that Shiva has thoroughly conquered. The cobras around his neck also represent the dormant energy, called Kundalini, the serpent power. The snake curled three times around the neck of Lord Shiva depicts the past, present and future time. The snake looking in the right direction of Lord Shiva signifies that the Lord's perpetual laws of reason and justice preserve natural order in the universe.
The Vibhuti: Vibhuti is a three line of ashes drawn on the forehead that signifies the Immortality of the soul and manifested glory of the Lord.
Tiger Skin: Lord Shiva is shown sitting on or wearing a tiger skin. The tiger is the vehicle of Shakti, the Goddess of power and force. Shiva is beyond and above any kind of force. He is the master of Shakti. The tiger skin that he wears symbolizes victory over every force. Tiger also represent lust. Thus sitting on Tiger skin, Shiva indicates that he has conquered lust.
The Elephant & Deer Skin: Shiva also wears elephant skins. Elephants represent pride. Wearing elephant skin, Shiva indicates that he has conquered pride. Similarly deer represent the flickering mind. Shiva wears deer skin which indicates that he has controlled the mind perfectly.
Rudraksha Necklace: ‘Rudra’ is the other name of Shiva. It also means strict or uncompromising and ‘aksha’ means eye. Rudraksha, the necklace worn by Lord Shiva shows that he is firm about his cosmic laws and to maintain law and order in the universe. The necklace has 108 beads, which symbolize the elements used in the creation of the world.
Damaru (Drum): A small drum with two sides alienated from each other by a thin neck-like structure represents the two utterly different states of existence, unclear and clear. When a damaru is shaken, the sound formed denotes Nada, the cosmic sound of AUM, which can be heard during deep meditation.
Trishul (Trident): A three-branched trident shown adjoining to Lord Shiva symbolizes His three fundamental powers will, action and knowledge. As a weapon the trident represents the instrument of punishment to the evil doer on all the three planes - spiritual, subtle and physical.
Nandi, the Bull: Nandi is said to be the vehicle of Lord Shiva. The bull represents both power and ignorance. Lord Shiva's use of the bull as his vehicle expresses the idea that He removes ignorance and bequeaths power of wisdom on His followers.
Once, Lord Siva was involved in a tough meditation. At that time, BrahmaDev appeared where Siva was meditating. KamDev was also there. Brahmav said, " Son, don't you see Siva is concentrating in this mediatation for years. You should find a way to make him retreat from the meditation." KamDev replied,"Father, Even my job is that. But you should do a help for me. Please create a beautiful girl. I will do the rest of the job

Brahmav created Vasanth and Malayanil. They both became KamDev's assistants. With the assistance of Vasanth and Malayanil, KamDev tried to wake Siva up. But all the efforts were in vain.
Finally, depressed Malayanil withdrawn from the operation. BrahmaDev went sad hearing this. The air which came from the depressed face of BrahmaDev turned intoarrows. He gave all those  arrows to KamDev to use it as weapon of love and adviced him to use it to wake Siva.

KamDev with his new weapons came near Lord Siva. He started to shoot arrows one by one. Yet, nothing happened. Defeated and resigned, KamDev went to BrahmaDev and conveyed his apologies.

Being lost to all chances, sad BrahmaDev started to pray Hari. At that very moment, Hari appeared in front of BrahmaDev "Hey BrahmaDev ! What made you this much unhappy? What made you pray me? Why is your face so depressed? I will do what is necessary."

BrahmaDev requested," Oh Vishnu Deva ! Lord Siva is deep meditating, unaware of what happening outside. The only way to wake him up is by making him fall in love with anyone. I done my best to do that with the help of my son. But all our efforts didn't payed off. That made me unhappy. I will be glad if you somehow do the job successfully."
Vishnu smiled and said,"Hey BrahmaDev ! I only see one way to complete your wish. You should pray to Lord Siva himself. If you pray him, he will be very happy and will be glad to grant your wish. Furthermore, with that wish is in your mind, pray Devi Para Sakti. She will born as a daughter of anyone in the earth and she will marry Lord Siva. It will not end with this. You should motivate Daksha too in this matter. Tell him to meditate to get Devi Para Sakti as daughter." Lord Vishnu disappeared after saying all these. BrahmaDev being satisfied, went to visit Daksha immideatly. While Emperor Daksha was sitting in the throne of his palace, BrahmaDev appeared. "Son Daksha ! You have to meditate immediately to Devi Para Sakti to be born as your daughter."BrahmaDev said. By hearing this, Daksha with his wife prayed to only Devi ParaSakti in mind while deep meditating. Their meditation lasted for 3000 years. Satisfied by the couple's deep meditation, Devi ParaSakti appeared before them.Daksha said,"Mother of the Universe ! Grant us a wish"
Devi replied," Daksha ! I am very much happy with your meditation. Do you have any wish? Ask for what you want."
Daksha with his wife said,"Incredible Devi ! My Dev Lord Siva incarnated from BrahmaDev in the name of Rudra. You haven't made any incarnation yet. Therefore, Lord Siva is without a wife. So, can you be born as my daughter in earth. This is not my wish only. Every Devas and Rishis are wishing for this too. Therefore, Devi Mother ! I request you to grand our wish and bless us."
After listening to what Daksha had to say, Devi replied," I will be born as your daughter as you wish. Then I'll be in a long and tough meditation and after that I'll accept Siva as my husband. But all this under one condition. You should listen it carefully"
" When you loose the respect on me, on that very moment, I will pass away from my body and join Parabrahma. You should always remember this."After saying all this, Devi ParaSakti blessed Daksha and his wife and disappeared.
60 daughters were born to Daksha and his wife. All of them were married to the deserved men. 10 of his daughters were married to Dharman, 13 were married to Kashyap, 27 were married to Chandra(Moon), Bhootan, Anguirass, Krishashwan were married to two each. The 4 daughters left were married to Tarkshya. Their generations were later became the population in the earth. Then, Daksha with his wife prayed for Devi ParaSakti again and as a result Sati was born.
After many years, BrahmaDev with Narada visited Daksha's palace to see Sati. Daksha was glad to see his father and brother. Sati came and respectfully bowed her head and touched the feet of her grandfather BrahmaDev. He raised her up and said," Hey Sati ! The secret wish that you hidden in your mind for all these years is going to happen. LokNath Lord Mahadeva will become your husband. He will not accept anyone else than you to be his wife. He is waiting for you right now. Therefore my child ! There is no need to be anxious." After a while, BrahmaDev and Narada left the palace. Hearing all these, Daksha and Sati was very happy.
Many years has passed. Sati became a beautiful teenager. By witnessing her beauty, Daksha thought," How can i allow this world beautiful girl, Sati to marry a man always wearing tiger's fur and looks like an animal. He is no match for my daughter." Daksha became anxious. By knowing her father's wish, Sati told her mother," Mother! Being a Lord ShivaSankar devotee, i wish to meditate to charm Mahadeva. Please give me the permission to do this." Her mother allowed her to meditate after confirming that Lord Siva is the perfect husband for Sati.

By getting the permission of her mother, Sati prayed Lord Siva and started to meditate. Sati spend her time day and night by doing puja to Lord Siva. People from different places came to see her praying to Mahadeva. But Sati didn't know anything happening outside. She was always concentrating on the prayer and meditation. By seeing this, all Devas went to Kailas to visit Lord Siva. After that, everyone said," Namo Namastey Lord Mahadeva ! We pray to you." After listening to what all Devas have to say including Brahmav and Vishnu, Lord Siva replied," Hey Hare ! Hey Vidhatave ! Hey Devas ! What is the reason behind the visit of all of you. I see something special in this visit. Tell me the reason behind your visit."
As Mahadev asked for the reason, Brahmav replied," Hey LokNath ! We all came here to remind you about an important thing. As I do my duty of creation with the help of Hari, the number of Asuras in the world is now expanding. Their sins are now increasing. Without destroying them imagine what happens. You are the only person who can carry on with that duty. There is no one to help you. There should be someone with the power of destruction after you. Even though we are all one, we have different duties. I look after creation and Vishnu look after protection after your suggestion. We both have wives. But you should not live alone like this. It is not apropriate. So, to make all Devas and living beings happy you should be married. Therfore, please accept a beautiful girl as your wife."
After listening to BrahmaDev, Siva smiled and replied," Hey Vishnu, BrahmaDev ! You two are my favorites. What you have said was very important. I will do what you said. But, it is not appropriate to a man like me to marry. I am always meditating. So what is the point in having a wife? I have no interest in marriage but for the world's sake I will marry.

I am ready to be married. But under one condition. I will only marry to a women who can incarnate into different persons. Whenever I meditate, she should also meditate. She should also not become a disturbance to my ideals. If anything like that happens, she will not live any more. Therefore, give me a bride who supports my ideals and follow my words."

Vishnu and Brahmav became happy by hearing this. BrahmaDev said," Oh Mahadeva! We have already found a suitable bride for you. She is the incarnation of Devi ParaSakti. Her name is Sati. She is the perfect match for you. She is now meditating to be your wife. Therefore Sada Siva ! You should bless her and marry. Her wish should be granted. This is what we all Devas wish for. So, there should be happiness in the three worlds."

Vishnu also conveyed the same opinion. Siva understood the importance of this matter. He blessed all Devas and decided to marry Sati.

The story starts with the tale of Shiva's marriage with Sati. Sati is a partial incarnation of the Supreme Goddess and is born as the daughter of Prajapati Daksha, who is a staunch devotee of Vishnu. She is drawn towards Shiva against the will of her father. Shiva and Sati get married and start living in Kailash. Soon after Daksha organises a yajna where all the gods except for Shiva are invited. Sati is distraught as this slight, and against Shiva's wishes, journeys to her parental home to question her father. Daksha, drunk on his own power and piety insults Shiva in front of Sati. Torn with remorse on having ignored her divine husband's wishes Sati gives up her body in the fires which emanate from her own body - pranagni. The grief-striken Shiva produces an aaveshavatar an incarnation of a fierce moodVirabhadra, who slays Daksha. Later, on hearing the prayers of Daksha's wife he restores Daksha's life. A distraught Shiva leaves with burnt corpse of Sati and wanders around the universe. Vishnu with the use of his divine discus dismembers the body into pieces, scattering them on earth. Shiva transforms the pieces into Shakti Peethas, embodiments of the power of the Goddess Adi Shakti.
After an age, during which Shiva plunges into austere tapas, Sati is reborn as Parvati, the daughter of Himavan, king of the Himalayas and Mainavati. She is also the sister of the river-goddess, Ganga. Parvati is raised in the hermitage of the Shaivite sage Dadhichi, who instructs her. As Parvati matures, she is captivated by the thought of attaining Shiva himself as her husband. Gradually the memory of her previous birth as Sati awakens in her; and she undertakes the most severe of austerities to please Shiva. He is appeased and they are married in the presence of all the gods and goddesses.
Kartikeya is born to Shiva and Parvati. The gods are pleased because it is Kartikeya who is destined to slay their arch foe, the demon Tarakasura and his brothers. Kartikeya is also nominated for the throne of the King of Devas but Shiva asks Indra to continue as the king. After this Kartikeya is sent to the Dakshin (south) where he is cared for by Meenakshi and here he slays the demon (asura), Tripath with her help.
The narrative also relates the destruction of the demon Tripura, by Shiva who is also called Tripurari. But just before the destruction of the Tripurasura, the little known legend of the birth of Shiva and Parvati's daughter, Ashoksundari has been included in the series.
On destroying Tripurasura, Shiva is praised by all the sages and gods except for Indra. Rishi Durvasa offers Shiva a special garland, which Shiva presents to Narada as prasadam. Narada, in his turn, offers the holy garland to Indra who, accepts the garland by placing it on the trunk of his tusker, Airavata; intoxicated by the fumes, Airavata tosses the garland and tramples it. This enrages the sage Durvasa and he curses Indra that all the gods will soon be bereft of all wealth and fortune. Not long after, to avenge the death of Tripurasura the demon king Bali attacks heaven and attempts to steal Amrita (the nectar of immortality). But it falls into the Ocean of milk. To regain the Amrita the defeated Devas are advised to join hands with the Asuras and churn the ocean.
The churning of the ocean is known as Samudra Manthan and is an elaborate process. In the process the Devas employ crafts to disadvantage the Asuras in many ways. Lord Vishnu comes to the aid of the gods and incarnates as a giant turtle, Kurma.
A myriad range of objects emanate from the churning of the ocean of milk. The very first is the lethal poison known as Halahala. Its presence puts the world at great risk. Shiva drinks the poison to save the universe from certain destruction, but Parvati comes to his rescue by pressing his neck to stop the poison from spreading. As a result, Shiva's neck sports an eternal blue patch and so he is called Nilkanth (The Blue-Throated One). The churning reveals many precious treasures, such as the Goddess of Wealth herself Lakshmi, who becomes the consort of Vishnu, the divine nymphs, many celestial animals etc. Finally, the divine physician Dhanvantariemerges carrying the vessel which contains the nectar. He is chased by the demons and gods until Vishnu cunningly cons the demons and distributes the nectar among the gods.
The narrative next shows us a grown up Kartikeya, who is no longer Senapati (head of the army), much to Indra's pleasure. Kartikeya journeys to the north and meets a grown-up Ashoksundari, as well as his parents. He instructs Ashoksundari on meditation techniques and, inspired, she retires to a life of meditation, much to Parvati's sadness.
As the ages pass, the darkness of the world increases. After the holy woman Ahilya is seduced by Indra, Parvati decides to give birth to the god of auspiciousness - Ganesh. Shiva is lost in his meditation hence Parvati does not disturb him with this decision. Once, she decided to perform a puja in a cave in Kailash with some other women, and she requests Ganesh to stand on guard outside and not allow anyone to enter within. The Devas and sages, who have assembled outside to gain an audience with the divine mother Parvati are refused by the child Ganesh. Infuriated by his apparent impertinence they battle him, but are roundly defeated. Finally, Shiva himself comes to meet Parvati but is bluntly refused entrance by Ganesh. An enraged Mahadev cuts off his head with his trident. At the commotion Parvati comes out and is stricken with the turn of events. She tells Shiva the truth of the situation and pleads for her son's life. Shiva fixes the head of an elephant calf on to the boy's torso as a fulfillment of a boon given to a devout elephant years ago.
Kartikeya returns to Kailasha, and is given a warm welcome by his family.
